Privacy Policy

The Board is a small, community-run notice board for Jamaica events. This page plainly explains what information we collect and how it's used, without legal filler.

What we collect

  • Event submissions: title, description, category, parish, venue, date/time, price info, and an optional flyer/photo you upload.
  • Submitter contact info: a name and contact method (email, phone, or Instagram handle) so we can reach you about your submission. This is never shown publicly on the board.
  • Admin sessions: a single cookie that marks a moderator as signed in. No account system, no tracking of individual visitors.

How it's used

Submission details are reviewed by a moderator before anything goes live. Approved events (minus your private contact info) appear on the public board. We don't sell your data, and we don't share submissions with third parties beyond what's needed to host the site and review queue.

Advertising

The Board shows ads through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and Google's own privacy policy, not this one, governs what it collects for that purpose. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising any time through Google's Ad Settings. Regardless of ads, we still don't sell your data to anyone.

Where things are stored

Event data and uploaded images are stored with Supabase (database and file storage) and the site itself runs on Vercel. Both are standard infrastructure providers, and we don't operate our own servers.
